This is a fantastic footpath between Lårdal and Dalen.A large part of the walk follows the mountain edge up to 800 metres above the Telemark Canal.You can admire the old scenery and historic sites.Total length is ca. 15 km, and it is a long days walk ore offcourse you can make it a 2 days trip if you bring your own tent. The summer 2009 we will have ready a cabin that you can stay in.
This is a good walk to combine with a return by boat on the Telemark Canal.

CYCLING
There are many cycle tracks in Tokke, whether you want to cycle up to Skafså, take a tour through the woods or ride along the shores of the Telemark Canal. Combined cycle/boat round tours are very popular, and if you want a real challenge you can try “The grand Canal Tour”.

PADDLING CANOE AND KAYAK
The waterways in Telemark invite you to a paddle tour and Dalen is an excellent place to begin. Sites for camping by canoe and sanitary services are arranged along the waterway and the boats on the canal can take both you and your canoe or cycle.

You can hire canoe, cycles or fishing boats at Telemark Adventure on the quay at Dalen.

ATV-SAFARI
Experience both nature and the landscape on a four wheel drive motorcycle. The tours use quiet roads and paths with little traffic and are of varying duration. You can choose routes with special interest for nature or history/culture.

There are many fine places for swimming along the Telemark Canal and lakes. In addition the rivers can offer crystal clear water and many pools where you can take a dip.

You should however be aware that many of the rivers are regulated, and the water level can increase without warning.

FISHING
There is wonderful fishing opportunities in the waters around Tokke. You can use both rod and otter-board. Information about fishing and fishing licences is to be found at the tourist office.

RAMBLING THROUGH THE WOODS OR MOORS
If you enjoy wandering through woods or moors then you can take one of the many marked tourist paths in Tokke. They are easy to follow and are of varying length and many of them planned with places of special interest along the way. Maps with the paths clearly marked as well as suggested longer tours by car and on foot can be obtained from the tourist office in Dalen.
